alfanar Construction signs the Kandarah 380kV substation, Jeddah, contract, worth close to SR 500 million with Saudi Electricity Company (SEC – WRB) April 2008

alfanar Construction is awarded the construction of the Sharourah Power Plant extension. The extension is expected to be commissioned in January 2010. The client is SEC- SOA.

alfanar Construction Company signed a contract worth SR 505.71 million with the Saudi Electric Company (SEC-WOA) for the execution of the project titled ‘Construction of 380kV Substation works associated with the integration of Rabigh 2 Power Plant. alfanar will execute the project on a turnkey basis, right from the design stage to its final commissioning.

alfanar Construction heads the consortium to bid for the Ras Az Zawr IWPP, project. The power generation capacity will be 11000MW with 1,000,000m3 of water per day. This project is on BOO basis.

alfanar Construction takes over the motor rewinding and repairing and coil manufacturing company, Paramount Arabia Ltd., located at Jubail Industrial City. The company will be now known as ‘alfanar Technical Services’. The management of alfanar Construction Company has invested generously to expand the current facilities of the factory.

alfanar Construction bids for the KAIA (King Abdul Aziz International Airport, Jeddah) 30, 000 m3/day Water Desalination plant. This is a BOT project valued close to SR 700 million.

July 2006

alfanar Construction is part of the consortium with Marubeni, to bid for the USD 4 billion Phase 2 Shuqaiq IWPP project. The plant will be constructed to produce an output of 800 MW Power and Water to 212,000m3/day. The consortium ended up as the second lowest bidder for the project.

Scope of works includes contruction of a new 380kV S/Stn # 9021 by installing 12 Circuit Breakers arranged in a a Double-Bus Breaker configuration and including additions/modifications to the Metering, Protection, Control, Communication & SCADA Equipment at 380kV S/Stns 9004, 9006 & 9013. Associated Civil Works and Spares. The duration of the project is 20 months.

Saudi Aramco Subcontract : The newly re-routed "115kV O/H P/L" in UGOSP9 facility works were completed, and, in turn the line was successfully energized on 06-Sep-04. It is to be noted that this Saudi Aramco job was completed on time by alfanar, and, this line is providing a power feed to this critical SA facility.
